Moving in His Power, Not Your Strength
Intimacy teaches you to stop striving in your own strength and to flow in the supernatural power of the Holy Spirit.

Key Scriptures
Zechariah 4:6 (AMP) — “Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit,” says the Lord of hosts.
2 Corinthians 12:9–10 (TPT) — “My grace is always more than enough for you, and My power finds its full expression through your weakness… When I am weak, I sense more deeply the mighty power of Christ living in me.”
Acts 1:8 (AMP) — “But you will receive power and ability when the Holy Spirit comes upon you…”
One of the most freeing lessons intimacy teaches you is this:
You were never meant to sustain yourself.
Not your calling.
Not your marriage.
Not your ministry.
Not your growth.
Not your spiritual battles.
Not your assignments.
You were designed to move in His power, not your own strength.
The deeper your intimacy, the quicker you recognize the limits of your flesh — and the limitless power of His Spirit. Intimacy does not make you stronger in yourself… it makes you more surrendered, more dependent, more aligned, more empowered by Him.
Your strength runs out.
His never does.
Your emotions fluctuate.
His Spirit is unshakable.
Your wisdom has limits.
His understanding is infinite.
Your ability is human.
His power is supernatural.
Intimacy teaches you to stop striving, stop performing, stop overthinking, stop pushing in the flesh — and to start flowing in the Spirit.
Spirit-led power looks radically different from self-powered effort:
Self-effort exhausts you.
Spirit-power energizes you.
Self-effort depends on circumstances.
Spirit-power depends on His presence.
Self-effort brings anxiety.
Spirit-power brings peace.
Self-effort produces burnout.
Spirit-power produces overflow.
You weren’t called to grind…
You were called to glide — on the wind of His Spirit.
You weren’t called to push…
You were called to partner — with the One who already conquered.
You weren’t called to fight in your flesh…
You were called to stand in your identity and strength in Him.
This is why Paul said, “When I am weak, I sense the mighty power of Christ living in me.”
Weakness is not a disqualification — it’s an open door for His power.
Weakness is an invitation to lean deeper.
Weakness is the exact place His strength manifests.
Intimacy shifts you from:
“I can do this…”
to
“I can do nothing without Him… but everything with Him.”
When you stay close to Him, you stop relying on yourself.
You stop fighting battles He never asked you to fight.
You stop carrying burdens He never told you to pick up.
You stop forcing outcomes He never asked you to control.
And you begin moving in a supernatural rest — a confidence that does not come from you, but from the One you abide in.
This is the overflow:
a life carried by His power instead of drained by your own.
Reflection & Journaling Prompts
Where am I striving in my own strength instead of surrendering to His Spirit?
What is one area of my life where I need His power to replace my exhaustion?
How has intimacy revealed my limitations in a way that led me deeper into His strength?
What does “moving in the Spirit” practically look like in my daily routine?
Declarations / Activation
Declarations:
I move in God’s power, not my strength.
His Spirit empowers my steps, decisions, and assignments.
Where I am weak, His power becomes visible.
I release striving and embrace Spirit-led rest, flow, and authority.
Activation:
Place your hand over your heart and take three slow breaths.
With each breath, say:
“Not by might…”
“Not by power…”
“But by Your Spirit.”
Then ask the Holy Spirit:
“Where am I striving? Where do You want me to surrender?”
Write down what He shows you — and release it into His hands.
Closing Prayer
Holy Spirit, thank You that I don’t have to move in my own strength. Teach me to rely completely on Your power. Strip away striving, self-reliance, and pressure. Fill me with supernatural grace, energy, wisdom, and authority. Help me walk in step with You, partnering with Your strength instead of my limitations. Let my life be a testimony of what Your power looks like when it flows through a surrendered daughter. In Jesus’ name, amen.
